a joint committee of the AAN, ANA and CNS
Monitors and evaluates evolving ethics, legal, and humanities issues and submit policy recommendations concerning those issues to the Board of Directors.

Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours per month plus 3 meetings each year
Responsibilities:
- Attend three meetings per year.
- January or February
- AAN Annual Meeting
- September or October
- Participate in conference calls with other committee members on relevant issues as they arise throughout the year.
- Chair and vice-chair work directly with staff liaison and participate in bi-monthly half-hour conference calls. For this reason, there may be additional time involvement depending upon project.
- Regularly, there are special projects related to policy development and education that require additional time commitment from committee members. The extent of the time commitment depends on the nature of the project, the role the member assumes on the project, and the project timeline.
