| Description: | Faculty will discuss important epilepsy comorbidities, including sudden unexplained death in epilepsy, developmental cognitive deficits, depression, and the special comorbidities occurring in women with epilepsy. Faculty will cover both physiological mechanisms as well as evaluation and treatment approaches in order to allow physicians treating patients with epilepsy to use a comprehensive, yet practical, therapeutic approach to these serious comorbidities. This program is offered in partnership with the American Epilepsy Society and the AAN Epilepsy Section. |
| Completion Message: | Participants should have improved knowledge of the etiology, pathophysiology, and clinical impact for the comorbidities to be discussed. Participants should be able to provide their patients with better information as well as prevention and treatment strategies. |
