AAN Committee Structure

Academy committees and subcommittees are made up of more than 330 volunteer AAN members dedicated to achieving the AAN's goal of providing and promoting the best possible care for patients with neurological disorders. The 15 committees report to the Board of Directors and the 34 subcommittees report to their parent committee. Committees and subcommittees carry out the business of the AAN, covering a range of activities including education, practice, and legislative affairs.

Committee Chairs and Members

Committee chairs are appointed and/or reappointed by each new AAN President. The president and committee chairs draw upon a list of interested AAN members when identifying potential new committee and subcommittee members. Committee members are subject to reapproval with the induction of each new president.
