Archives Committee
Compile, researches and maintains the written archives of the Academy.
Staff Liaison: Jeff Sorenson, CAE, Director, Technology
Estimated time commitment: 1-2 hours per month plus 1 meeting
Responsibilities:
- Attend one meeting each year
- Usually scheduled during the Annual Meeting. Purpose is to review the past year's archive and rare book process and plan for the coming year's priorities in support of AAN archives.
- Work with AAN archive and records collection partner (Washington University) in the deposit and retention of inactive organizational records.
- Work with AAN staff liaison to regularly assess and develop appropriate procedures and process in support of AAN archive records deposit and retention.
- Develop periodic marketing and communication tools on AAN archive and rare book collection activity and availability.
- Participate in conference calls with other committee members on relevant issues as they arise throughout the year.
- Assist in the coordination of efforts between the Archives Committee, History Section and McHenry Award.
- Administer the H. Richard Tyler Fellowship to be awarded at the Annual Meeting.
