Archives Committee

Compile, researches and maintains the written archives of the Academy.

Staff Liaison: Jeff Sorenson, CAE, Director, Technology

Estimated time commitment: 1-2 hours per month plus 1 meeting

Responsibilities:

  1. Attend one meeting each year
    1. Usually scheduled during the Annual Meeting. Purpose is to review the past year's archive and rare book process and plan for the coming year's priorities in support of AAN archives.
  2. Work with AAN archive and records collection partner (Washington University) in the deposit and retention of inactive organizational records.
  3. Work with AAN staff liaison to regularly assess and develop appropriate procedures and process in support of AAN archive records deposit and retention.
  4. Develop periodic marketing and communication tools on AAN archive and rare book collection activity and availability.
  5. Participate in conference calls with other committee members on relevant issues as they arise throughout the year.
  6. Assist in the coordination of efforts between the Archives Committee, History Section and McHenry Award.
  7. Administer the H. Richard Tyler Fellowship to be awarded at the Annual Meeting.
