General Neurology Section

The purpose of the General Neurology Section is to promote exchange of information among General Neurologists to improve patient outcomes, streamline delivery of Neurological Care and enhance educational activities for General Neurologists. The Section will act as a resource to the Academy, by organizing forums, seminars, symposiums or other educational activities to enhance the knowledge of general neurologists.

Guideline: Remove Athlete If Concussion Is Suspected

An evidence-based guideline from the AAN for evaluating and managing athletes with concussion recommends that athletes who are suspected of having a concussion be removed from the game immediately and not be returned until assessed by a licensed health care professional trained in diagnosing and managing concussion. New Guideline Aids Conversations on Driving with Dementia

A new evidence-based clinical guideline published by the American Academy of Neurology in the April 20, 2010, edition of the journal Neurology® suggests that physicians should consider multiple information sources to evaluate driving safety, including observers' reports of declining driving skill and driving tests.
