Advocacy Action Plan Support Grant

The Academy is now accepting applications from Palatucci Advocacy Leadership Forum graduates for new Advocacy Action Plan Support Grants. Each grant, for up to $1,000, is designed to assist graduates with the implementation of their advocacy action plan developed during the Forum. All Forum graduates are eligible to apply for this grant, regardless of their graduation year. According to the Academy's Principles Governing AAN Relationships with External Sources of Support, grant money cannot be used to support lobbying or political advocacy activities.

Multiple grants will be awarded. Requests will be considered on a rolling basis and finances are limited. Individuals receiving grant money will be expected to submit a detailed report of how the money was spent to support their initiative.

Applications will be graded using the following criteria:

  • Applicant must provide an objective, measurable and feasible outcome to be accomplished within a specific time frame
  • Application must include detailed information regarding how funds will be allocated and spent
  • Applicant's goal must be directly related to their Palatucci Action Plan, and:
    • Action plan must be inserted in the online system
    • A new action plan may be submitted
    • If submitting a new action plan, applicant must include a summary of the previous plan and where it stands
