Free Event for Patients and the Public

9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 16, 2013, San Diego, CA
Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel

The Brain Health Fair is a FREE, daylong family event connecting thousands of patients, families, and caregivers affected by a brain disease, as well as the general public interested in brain health. Participants can attend classes and activities on Alzheimer's disease, stroke, Parkinson's disease, autism, brain injury, epilepsy, headache, multiple sclerosis, sleep disorders and other types of brain disease. Presented by the American Brain Foundation.

2013 Neuro Film Festival

The Neuro Film Festival, presented by the American Brain Foundation, will take place March 22, at 7:00 p.m. on the Sails Terrace at the San Diego Convention Center.

The winning videos–Grand Prize, Runner–up, and Fan Favorite–will be announced and shown during the festival.

Capping off the evening will be a special screening of “The Crash Reel,” an HBO documentary directed by Oscar–nominated director Lucy Walker. The film, which recently had its world premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, tells the dramatic story of professional snowboarder Kevin Pearce. Training to compete against longtime rival Shaun White at the 2010 Winter Olympics, Kevin suffered massive head trauma from a 2009 accident in Park City, Utah. His tight–knit Vermont family flew to his side, and together they began an intensive process of trying to rehabilitate him and help him rebuild his permanently damaged life.

About the Neuro Film Festival
The Neuro Film Festival aims to raise awareness about the need to donate money for research into the prevention, treatment, and cure of brain and nervous system diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, autism, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis.?

Neurology patients, caregivers, and others submit videos sharing personal stories about why more money is needed in finding cures for brain diseases. View this year's touching, informative and inspiring video submissions at NeuroFilmFestival.com.

The American Brain Foundation, the foundation of the American Academy of Neurology, is an independent 501(c)(3) organization that funds the most crucial research to cure brain disease, such as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, Parkinson's disease, autism, and epilepsy. Brain disease affects more than 50 million people in the United States alone. In moving toward its vision, the American Brain Foundation's goal is to reduce the prevalence of brain disease 50 percent by 2040.

For more information on how you can help cure brain disease visit CureBrainDisease.org.
