Medical Student Scholarships to the Annual Meeting
Application Deadline: November 2, 2009
The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Association of University Professors of Neurology (AUPN) are working together to stimulate medical students' interest in neurology programs and are jointly offering a scholarship to fund medical students' attendance at the AAN Annual Meeting. Forty $1,000 scholarships are available to active SIGN members to attend the April 10–17, 2010, meeting in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The AAN and AUPN hope that helping students attend the SIGN meeting and other events at the AAN Annual Meeting, their interest in neurology will be stimulated, ultimately benefiting the field of neurology.
In order to apply for these funds, the following requirements must be met:
- The applicant must be a member of the AAN
- Applicants must be affiliated with a registered SIGN chapter and be active SIGN members
- Applicants must include a CV, Letter of Interest outlining SIGN leadership and activities
- The applicant must be from a school outside the Seattle area (the funds are intended for transportation/lodging and similar expenses)
- The student must attend the SIGN meeting at the Annual Meeting on Monday, April 12, 2010, in order to received the scholarship
Application Materials
In order for the application to be considered complete, students should submit:- Completed application form
- Completed tax form (W-9 for U.S. and W-8BEN Substitute for Canada)
Eligibility:
- The student must be from a registered SIGN chapter and serve as either the SIGN chapter president or a designated representative.
- The student must be from a school outside the Annual Meeting location (the funds are intended for transportation/lodging and similar expenses).
- The student must attend the SIGN meeting at the Annual Meeting on Monday, April 12, 2010, in order to receive the scholarship.
