Corporate Roundtable Governing Policies

The Corporate Roundtable (CRT) was created to establish a relationship between the AAN, AAN Foundation, and Industry. The CRT is an AAN Foundation-sponsored membership organization of companies that are committed to working together with the neurological community to meet the AAN Foundation goals.

Participation in Corporate Roundtable (CRT) and the American Academy of Neurology Foundation® (AAN Foundation) Activities

  • Corporate Roundtable Membership is based on a calendar year and current dues payment
  • CRT members are asked to identify primary, secondary and other contacts for CRT activities throughout the year. Any substitutions must be submitted in writing.
  • The Foundation is responsible for implementing and enforcing CRT benefits.
  • No former employees of the AAN or AAN Foundation can be the primary or secondary contact for the member company.
  • To preserve the open, professional collegiate atmosphere of the CRT, there can be no solicitation of CRT and AAN members during CRT functions.
  • Access to the AAN and AAN Foundation activities is a privilege, not a right. If a CRT member violates these Corporate Roundtable guidelines, the AAN Foundation reserves the right to ask a member to leave the activity and/or forfeit their membership if the violation continues.
  • All guidelines issued by the AAN are endorsed by the AAN Foundation. CRT members are expected to understand and adhere to those guidelines including, but not limited to, ACCME, Press Room and Industry Participation in the Annual Meeting guidelines.

Corporate Roundtable Executive Committee

  • The CRT Executive Committee (CRTEC) shall be a standing committee of seven members of the Corporate Roundtable.
Must be a CRT member for at least a year to be eligible for the CRTEC.
  • The CRTEC shall, between meetings of the CRT membership, make decisions on behalf of the full CRT and shall make a formal report of all actions taken by it to the CRT at the next regular meeting.
  • Members of the CRTEC shall serve for two years. The term of the members will begin and end at the CRT Meeting held in conjunction with the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting.
  • The American Academy of Neurology Foundation reserves the right to renew term appointments for CRTEC representatives.
  • The AAN Foundation shall make CRTEC selections considering the recommendations of the CRT membership.
  • The CRTEC membership is not transferable from one member of a company to another, e.g. if a member of the Executive Committee changes positions within a company or leaves a company the position does not transfer to his/her replacement.
  • CRTEC chair will serve as a Public Trustee to the AAN Foundation.
