Patient Safety Alliances

The American Academy of Neurology monitors the national patient safety landscape to stay up-to-date on the latest patient safety developments and trends. Below are links to some of the organizations outside the AAN doing patient safety work that may be of particular interest to neurologists. National Priorities Partnership

The National Priorities Partnership (NPP) is a 48-member organization convened by the National Quality Forum (NQF) to provide advice and input to the Department of Health and Human Services on setting national priorities and goals for the HHS National Quality Strategy. National Quality Forum

The AAN is a voting member of the NQF, the leading organization for health care measures in the United States. Visit the NQF website to learn more about measures development and implementation, and to see what the NQF is doing in the area of patient safety.

National Patient Safety Foundation

The National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF) fosters the improvement in patient safety in American health care through medical education and research support on important safety topics. National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse

The National Health Collaborative on Violence and Abuse (NHCVA) is a collaboration of various types of health care and other social organizations invested in preventing and responding to intimate partner violence, and child/elder abuse and neglect. The AAN is a member of the collaborative, along with other such organizations as the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Academy of Family Physicians, and many more.
