Industry Guidelines for the Press Room
The AAN Press Room is a facility for journalists covering the AAN Annual Meeting. Press badges are available only to working journalists and writers, who must show the proper credentials. As such, only journalists who have registered and received credentials may use the facility.
Exhibitors
Companies that are exhibitors may not request journalist credentials for any of their staff.
The AAN Press Room does not accept news releases, press kits, or other announcements from industry representatives, public relations firms, or medical communications companies.
Representatives from these groups may display press releases only on a designated table for industry press releases located outside the Press Room. The embargo time of the abstract featured in press release must be clearly labeled on the top of the press release. The AAN is not responsible for reviewing these press releases, but will hold industry representatives accountable for misrepresentation (i.e., stating that a study was presented as part of the Annual Meeting when it was not selected as part of the program). The AAN has the right to refuse any materials.
Press releases not labeled with embargo times and other materials such as press kits, folders, brochures and fact sheets left on the designated table for industry press releases will be discarded. Representatives from industry, public relations firms, or medical communications companies are not allowed to enter the Annual Meeting Press Room, Press Interview Room, including press conferences.
Confidentiality
The AAN does not share its news release distribution list nor its list of journalist attendees to outside organizations.
