Clinical Research Training
Enhance your research skills in study design, measurement, clinical trials, and more with clinical research training programs. Programs for funding clinical research offer options for financial support. The AAN also provides a variety of clinical research awards, designed by your colleagues. Following are a list of programs and opportunities in clinical research in neurology:
AAN Clinical Research Training Fellowships
The AAN Clinical Research Training Fellowships program offers neurologists and clinical investigators interested in academic careers in clinical research. These awards are intended for candidates who have not had formal clinical research training and who are less than five years from completing residency.
2013 Futures in Clinical Research Luncheon
For the past 11 years, the AAN has sponsored the Futures in Clinical Research Luncheon for residents and fellows. This luncheon has brought young people together with leading clinical researchers to learn about a career in clinical research.
At this year's event, Joel S. Perlmutter, MD, FAAN, of Washington University, presented on starting a clinical research career and provided insights on topics such as choosing a research topic, applying for a fellowship, and research training funding.
