The application deadline is quickly approaching for the Lawrence M. Brass, MD, Stroke Research Postdoctoral Fellowship. Depending on an applicant's American Heart Association affiliate, the deadline is between July 17 and 20. The award, sponsored in partnership by the American Brain Foundation (ABF) and the American Heart Association/American Stoke Association (AHA/ASA), supports a postdoctoral investigator conducting clinical research related to stroke research, with a preference for trainees in vascular neurology, stroke, neurocritical care, or outcomes research.
The fellowship is named in honor of Brass, an academic neurologist and director of the stroke program at Yale University who was an active volunteer for many AHA/ASA and ABF committees. Brass was a clinician and patient-oriented investigator in studies of stroke diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and outcomes research.
