Abstracts qualify for Emerging Science presentations by having key aspects of research conducted after the October 15 abstract submission deadline and must be new and of sufficient scientific importance to warrant expedited presentation and publication. Twelve abstracts were presented during the Emerging Science Platform session from 5:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. An additional nine abstracts were presented during Poster Session 4 on Wednesday, March 20th from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
