CMS Offers Clarification on E/M Services on the Same Day as Critical Care

In a transmittal published in March, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) offer clarification on how to bill for E/M services that are provided to a patient who receives critical care services the same day. This new transmittal offers useful information for physicians who provide an E/M service to a patient who is non-critical, but who later becomes critical.
