In honor of Susan S. Spencer, MD, FAAN, who passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009, a memorial service with reception to follow will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. in the Yale Battell Chapel. Those who knew her—including the entire Yale community, patients, and colleagues—are invited to join her friends and family in celebration of her life and legacy. Spencer was a Professor of Neurology at the Yale School of Medicine and Director of the Epilepsy Program at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, teacher, doctor, and researcher who touched countless lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the American Epilepsy Society for the Susan Spencer Fund for Clinical Research and Education (to the AES at 342 North Main St., West Hartford, CT 06117, or by credit card online). Battell Chapel is located at 400 College Street (at the corner of College and Elm Streets) in New Haven, CT. Parking is available on-street in the areas around the Chapel and in Yale Lot #51, which may be accessed from Temple Street (entrance between Wall and Elm Streets).
