New NeuroPI Now Available to Help Members Meet MOC Requirements

NeuroPI, the AAN's new performance improvement module designed to help members address the Performance in Practice (PIP) component of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) mandated by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), now is available.

The first available module in the series focuses on Epilepsy, and more modules will become available in the coming months, including Parkinson's Disease and Patient Safety: Falls. Order today!

Because completing the PIP process can take up to two years, those applying for re-certification between 2013 and 2015 should understand and begin working towards completing this initiative now. For those not applying for recertification, NeuroPI is specifically designed to extend beyond MOC requirements into every day practice to benefit neurologists and patients.

What Is PIP and How Does It Relate to MOC?

MOC is not an AAN initiative. MOC is mandated by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and is designed to ensure that physician specialists offer quality patient care through an ongoing process of self-improvement and performance improvement.
