Limitations in triptan therapy (e.g. suboptimal response, association with medication overuse headache) prevent adherence to acute therapy, raising the risk of CM onset, which in turn guarantees higher healthcare costs. There are no studies describing the magnitude of risk for developing CM according to triptan exposure in real-world practice.
