Topic(s) General Neurology

Learning Objectives Participants should be able to navigate more easily towards the correct diagnosis and avoid diagnostic pitfalls in a patient presenting with myelopathy. Clinical and radiologic pearls will assist the general neurologist in recognizing the cause of myelopathy and ordering the correct investigations to confirm the diagnosis. Attendees will be more aware of specific advances in the field of autoimmune myelopathies (e.g., myelin-oligodendrocyte glycoprotein-IgG associated myelitis) and acute and chronic management of myelopathy (e.g., utility of plasma exchange in a patient with a severe myelitis from aquaporin-4-IgG seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder).
