Learning Objectives
Clerkship, residency, and fellowship program coordinators and managers are invited to attend the fourth and final day of education coordinator focused programming. Trainee Hub: 8:00am - 9:00am - Residency Coordinator 101. Newer coordinators, anyone onboarding a new coordinator or switching coordinator roles, and even seasoned coordinators are invited to participate in this session to learn the ins and outs of the coordinator position. 9:00am - 11:00am - Clerkship Coordinator: Understanding LCME Standards for Accreditation. Participants should gain an understanding key leadership concepts; explore their role as a leader in medical education; understand Emotional Intelligence and its role in the workplace; develop communication strategies to enhance success with crucial conversations; develop a personal and professional mission and career objectives; identify areas within their role as opportunities for improvement; consider new ways of thinking, organizing, planning, tracking, or documenting; and participate in a career enhancement project by developing an idea, research, and implementation of that idea. Educator Room: 9:00am - 9:45am - Transitioning a New Program Director: Getting a New Program Director Up and Running. Participants will learn strategies for coordinators to develop a good relationship with a new program director and review available resources for the program coordinator and new program director, including ideas for how to support trainees through a program director transition. 9:45am - 10:45am - CME and Grand Rounds. Participants will get an overview of the purpose and importance of CME and Grand Rounds, with speakers sharing best practices for administration of each of these residency education activities. 10:45am - 11:30am - PEC and CCC Processes. Trainee Hub: 11:30am - 12:30pm - Annual Program Evaluation (APE): Using Data Effectively. Participants should be able to distinguish between different sources of program evaluation data, and identify key data sources for the purposes of program improvement; formulate a plan to gather, maintain, and communicate program evaluation data; and explain how high-quality program evaluation data can contribute to accomplishing the program mission. 12:30pm - 1:00pm - Education Coordinator Wrap-up, Feedback, and Sharing. Coordinators are invited to reflect on what they've learned and make suggestions for the next conference.
