Participants should be familiar with current concepts of multiple sclerosis pathogenesis with respect to the complex interplay of environmental and genetic contributions to disease susceptibility, how recent findings in epidemiology and neuropathology have changed our thinking about MS, and understand the essential immunological mechanisms involved in MS, and the immunological effects of current disease-modifying treatments.
