Half-Day Course
Participants should understand physiological changes in pregnancy that can affect the nervous system, its vasculature, and drug clearance. Participants should be able to understand the risks of seizures and various antiepileptic drug regimens during pregnancy; recommend safe options for symptomatic and prophylactic treatment of headaches during pregnancy; recommend safe options for imaging in pregnancy; understand the work-up, management, and treatment of the pregnant patient with stroke; understand the challenges in treating myasthenia gravis in pregnancy and recognize other common neuromuscular diagnoses during pregnancy and the peripartum; and understand the management and treatment of women with multiple sclerosis preconception through pregnancy and the postpartum period.
