Annual Meeting: Abstracts
Abstracts are a cornerstone of the world’s biggest and best gathering of neurologists and neuroscience professionals and provide the opportunity for you to extend the reach of your findings within and well beyond your subspecialty. The AAN is currently seeking submissions in all subspecialties and career levels for the 2025 Annual Meeting—including abstracts that have been previously presented or published.
2025 Abstract Submission Information
All abstract submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. CT on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Accepted abstracts are required to be presented in person at the 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA.
Submission Fees
A non-refundable submission fee will be charged for each abstract submission. The fee is based on the first author’s training and member status.
- AAN Members: $125
- Nonmembers: $225
- Interns, Junior Residents and Fellows, PhD Candidates, and Students (Medical or Graduate): $0
Please review the abstract guidelines for important information and email Katie Anderson with any additional questions.
Disclosures
All abstract authors must have a complete disclosure statement on file by 11:59 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Notifications
Notification emails will be sent from AAN@mirasmart.com to the first author on the abstract submission at the end of January. Please check your spam or junk folder in case the email is marked as spam by your provider and contact Katie Anderson if you have not received your notification email by early February. First authors will be given a code to receive an extension of the Annual Meeting early registration rate as an abstract presenter.
AAN Annual Meeting abstracts, not including late-breaking science abstracts, will be posted on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. ET. These abstracts are allowed to be presented at subspecialty meetings as long as the abstract has not been selected for the AAN Annual Meeting press release program. Authors will be notified at acceptance if their abstracts have been selected for an AAN press release. Embargo dates for abstracts to be featured in an AAN press release will be communicated to the authors of those abstracts. Authors of abstracts featured in an AAN press release must abide by AAN Embargo Policies.
Withdrawals
Withdrawal requests are permitted until March 28, 2025. However, not all withdrawals will be reflected in print or online publications depending on when the withdrawal request is made.
Withdrawal requests should be submitted to science@aan.com and include the abstract title, ID number, and the presenter’s name. Authors should also provide reasoning for the withdrawal. Authors not notifying AAN staff of withdrawal, notifying AAN staff after March 28, 2025, or not providing a sufficient reason for withdrawal will be subject to sanctioning.
