Description
The Science Committee develops recommendations for policies and activities related to all issues of a scientific nature that involve the Academy and its membership. The Committee is responsible for the creation of the scientific component of the Annual Meeting, including the selection of the winners of science-related awards.

Responsibilities

  • Attend two meetings each year:
    • December/January meeting to review the Annual Meeting scientific program and finalize items (two days).
    • June/July meeting to set the scientific program for the Annual Meeting and review evaluation data from the previous meeting (two days).
  • Participate in multiple conference calls over the course of the year to discuss policy issues, select Emerging Science abstracts, etc.

Estimated Time Commitment
Five hours per month plus meetings.

  • Additional members are assigned at large
