Clinical Research Training Scholarship in Neurodisparities

Research Program

Funded by the American Brain Foundation in collaboration with the American Academy of Neurology

This award will not be offered in 2025.

The goal of this scholarship is to reduce neurological health care disparities by fostering research that produces an understanding of how social determinants and bioscience influence brain health, the effect of disparities on neurological health, potential interventions to address health disparities, and how to integrate the impact of social determinants in clinical practice.

This scholarship also supports career development of clinician-scientists with emerging expertise in neurological healthcare disparities, which is significantly understudied.

In the past this award consisted of a commitment of $65,000 per year for two years, plus a $10,000 per year stipend to support education and research-related costs for a total of $150,000. Supplementation of the award with other grants was permissible, but to be eligible to apply for this award, the other grant source(s) could not exceed $75,000 annually.
