Private Practitioner AAN Service Award
About
This award is designed to recognize a private practitioner's outstanding service to the Academy. The AAN recognizes the unique value that private practitioners bring to the Academy, while also noting that extensive volunteerism often requires sacrificing compensation, family, and/or vacation time.

- Applications close: October 31, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. CT
Benefits
The winner will receive an honorary plaque and recognition at the Annual Meeting and in AAN member publications.
Eligibility
This award honors a practitioner working in a private practice setting. Applicants must be AAN members in good standing.
Applicants must attest that they meet the AAN definition of private practice, which is considered a "practice in which the physician(s) own a contractual, controlling, or substantial financial interest in the practice's success or failure."
Application Procedure
Whether self-nominating or nominating someone else, each application should include:
- The completed application form, which includes a statement of interest (500-word limit).
- A current curriculum vitae.
