Candidates to the fellowship program should have completed an ACGME-accredited neurology residency. At OHSU we have constructed a 2-year fellowship to prepare candidates to be epileptologists in academic or clinical practice. The first year of the program is an ACGME accredited epilepsy fellowship (see separate listing in this directory). The Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship serves as a second year of the overall fellowship program. It supports further understanding and expertise in EEG, including intracranial EEG and advanced topics in epilepsy management, including outpatient and presurgical management, expanding on the first fellowship year. Robust experience in neuromodulation, including participation in a dedicated neuromodulation clinic is provided. A 2-month experience in intraoperative monitoring is offered, as well as didactic teaching in sleep medicine and EMG-NCS to fulfill the requirements of the ACGME fellowship. Additional protected time is provided to pursue scholarly projects in this, the 2nd year of the overall fellowship program. Upon completion of the two-year training, the candidate will be eligible to sit for both clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy board examinations. Length of program: 1 year (note this is part of a two-year sequence: Epilepsy fellowship – 1 year – followed by Clinical Neurophysiology – 1 year).
