| The Neurocritical Care Fellowship Program’s mission is to train future neurointensivists to manage any aspect of critical care with a special focus on the clinical care of diverse neurologic emergencies. In order to accomplish this mission, fellows will have extensive training on the neurocritical care service from experienced neurointensivists, as well as rotations through all other critical care areas of the hospital to gain the ability to manage any critical care issue that may arise. Further, the fellowship will have didactic lectures, hands-on procedural training and close mentoring by skilled faculty. The fellowship will take advantage of the strengths of Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), which includes an extensive network of eight hospitals serving the third-most-populated region of Pennsylvania and its catchment area of remarkably diverse patients requiring specialized care in the neuroscience intensive care unit at the hub institution of the network. Trainees will provide care to the full spectrum of LVHN patients while learning the core competencies underlying the provision of highly competent, compassionate and equitable neurocritical care. | |
