The Department of Neurology at UC Davis is offering a one-year, clinically-focused fellowship program in Movement Disorders. Fellows receive in-depth clinical training in the diagnosis and management of a wide variety of movement disorders, including Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Atypical Parkinsonisms, ataxia, dystonia, tremor, Functional Movement Disorders, myoclonus, Tourette's, and dementias. The fellow will gain extensive experience with Deep Brain Stimulation (including the evaluation pathway, surgical placement in the OR, and programming of all 3 major DBS devices), subcutaneous carbidopa/levodopa infusions, and the application of botulinum toxin injections for the treatment of movement disorders. The fellow will also participate in Parkinson's Disease and Huntington's Disease multidisciplinary clinics, attend their own dedicated weekly movement continuity clinic, and have ample flexibility and elective opportunities. Educational experiences include participation in regular case conferences, video rounds, journal clubs, lectures, seminars, local and regional symposia, and monthly meetings with faculty mentors. Applicants must either be currently in a US neurology residency program, or be graduates of a US neurology residency program who are actively practicing clinical neurology.. The program can accept J-1 and EAD applicants, but will not accept H1-B applicants. Applicants are interviewed and matched only through the SF Match.
