| The Cleveland Clinic offers a one-year, non-accredited fellowship in intracranial neurophysiology for advanced learners who have completed prior formal training in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology. This program builds on foundational knowledge for more extensive subspecialty training, focusing on complex investigations with intracranial neurophysiology, especially with intracranial stereo-electroencephalopgraphy (sEEG), electrocorticography (ECoG), intraoperative monitoring (IOM), magnetoencephalography (MEG), cortical brain mapping, multimodal epilepsy imaging and post-processing, critical care monitoring, neuromodulation, and experimental treatments, including the most cutting-edge technologies. The experience and training prepares the fellow to comprehensively assess and manage the most complex intractable epilepsy surgery cases, in the setting of one of the nation’s largest level 4 epilepsy centers and busiest surgical centers. As the first center to integrate stereo-EEG to epilepsy care in North America, trainees apprentice under exceptional faculty with pre-eminent experience and unparalleled instruction in functional neuroanatomy and brain connectivity. Strengths of the program include above all, the people that will be part of this apprenticeship - a world-class epilepsy faculty, a large expert multidisciplinary team, and an international cohort of diverse peers who build on the synergistic learning experiences. In addition, the clinical volume and variety of experiences, countless academic and research opportunities, dedication to education, flexibility for individualization based on career aspirations, structured mentorship, integration of adult and pediatric care, and available resources elevate this training. Graduates are prepared to excel as academic epileptologists, including guiding advanced surgical planning, as top-tier clinicians and leaders. | |
