| The University of California San Diego (UCSD) MS and Neuroimmunology Clinical Fellowship Program offers a rich training environment for patient care across the lifespan. Mentees receive direct, mentored experience in adult and pediatric neuroimmunology clinics, as well as inpatient consultations, specialized autoimmune neurology clinics, peri-pregnancy, aging-related, and comprehensive multi-disciplinary care clinics. About our center: UCSD holds designations as clinical centers of excellence by the National MS Society, Consortium of MS Centers, the Siegel Rare Neurological Disease Association, the VA MS Centers of Excellence, and the U.S. Network of Pediatric MS Centers. Our clinical fellowships offer the opportunity to participate in educational activities, teaching opportunities, and scholarly activities tailored to the fellows' interests, and advance their academic exposure by attending national and international conferences. Training environment: Our clinical fellows training program offers a thoughtfully curated range of clinical training experiences to prepare mentees for highly successful careers in academic or non-academic settings. Our fellows train in adult academic, VA, and pediatric hospital settings as well as engage with our community partner centers. Our faculty collectively offers valuable exposure to neuroimmunological, neuro-ophthalmological and genetic mimics of MS that are critical for the fellows' ability to accurately diagnose and treat MS and related disorders. In addition to comprehensive MS clinics, fellows rotate through dedicated clinics for pediatric neuroimmunology, autoimmune encephalitis and MS mimics (sarcoid, vasculitis), neuro-ophthalmology, and genetic/metabolic white matter disorders. Who should apply: Trainees in both Adult and Pediatric Neurology programs are encouraged to apply. How to apply: Please send applications through the SF Match for Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis: https://www.sfmatch.org/specialty/neuroimmunology-&-multiple-sclerosis-fellowship/Overview Administrative inquiries: Please contact Danise Talavera (datalavera@health.ucsd.edu) For those interested in a 2-year research fellowship, please express your interest in your application, and available opportunities will be discussed with the Program Director. | |
