| The Cleveland Clinic Neuro-Oncology Fellowship is a UCNS-accredited, post-residency training program designed to provide comprehensive clinical and scholarly preparation in neuro-oncology. The fellowship is based at the Rose Ella Burkhardt Brain Tumor Center (BBTC) and offers an intensive, structured educational experience in the diagnosis and management of primary and metastatic tumors of the central nervous system, tumor predisposition syndromes, and the neurological complications of cancer and cancer-directed therapies. The one-year UCNS-accredited clinical fellowship emphasizes supervised, progressive responsibility in both inpatient and outpatient neuro-oncology care. Fellows participate in high-volume clinical services, longitudinal continuity clinics, and multidisciplinary tumor boards, and gain experience with contemporary standards of care, advanced diagnostics, and therapeutic decision-making. Training occurs within a multidisciplinary framework that includes neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, radiation oncology, neuroradiology, neuropathology, medical oncology, and supportive care services. An optional second year is available for fellows seeking additional training in research and academic development. This year provides protected time for clinical, translational, or outcomes-based research, with structured mentorship and expectations for peer-reviewed publications, national or international presentations, and participation in educational and scholarly activities. Fellows continue to develop advanced clinical expertise while building a foundation for independent academic practice. The program’s mission is to train physicians who demonstrate excellence in patient care, scholarship, and professionalism, and who are prepared for careers in academic neuro-oncology, clinical investigation, and leadership within multidisciplinary cancer programs. | |
