| The fellowship consists of one-year training in neuromuscullar medicine which include clinical electromyography, neuromuscular diseases, and pathology of nerve and muscle. After an introductory period, the fellow will be actively involved in all clinical EMGs and interpretation of nerve and muscle biopsies. The fellow is encouraged to be involved in a clinical research study. Detailed conferences in electromyography and neuromuscular diseases are held weekly. The fellow will participate in the general neuromuscular clinic, the ALS clinic and the Muscle Disease Center clinic (a multidisciplinary clinic of adult and children with muscular dystrophies and other neuromuscular diseases). An experience in the autonomic laboratory is available and optional. About 70% of the time are spent in performing and interpreting EMGS, 20% in neuromuscular clinics and the rest in pathology and other aspects of clinical neurophysiology.
