Apply for these free AAN leadership programs by May 14!
April 3, 2026
Three of the AAN’s popular leadership programs are accepting applications: the Diversity Leadership Program, the Emerging Leaders Program, and the Practice Leadership Program. Applications are due May 14, 2026.
Each program is tailored to help AAN members grow in their careers, building the skills needed to advance neurology and promote brain health for all. Participants will begin this fall and graduate in 2027.
The AAN invests in the future of neurology by providing these opportunities at no expense to the participant. Certified neurologists who are active AAN members and live in the US are eligible. Here’s a quick look at each option.
- Diversity Leadership Program: It’s important to have leaders who reflect the demographics of our members and the patients they serve. Participants grow their critical leadership skills in an empowering, inspirational program.
- Emerging Leaders Program: This program engages talented early-career neurologists who have the disposition to lead and are interested in future roles at the AAN and the field of neurology. Get the skills you need to pursue your career goals.
- Practice Leadership Program: Conveniently formatted for busy schedules, this program helps solo and small group practitioners grow their practice management skills, lead staff, and more.
The programs include opportunities like monthly one-to-one coaching, regular leadership development content group calls, and mentor support from engaged AAN neurologists. They also include in-person kickoffs and graduations.
“There’s nothing quite like the AAN’s leadership programs,” said Leadership Development Committee Vice Chair Madhu Soni, MD, FAAN. “They provide a unique opportunity to learn, grow, network, and develop invaluable skills to succeed in one’s career locally, within the AAN, and beyond.”
