Neuro Film Festival Unveils its 2012 Contest Winners

NEW ORLEANS -

The American Brain Foundation is pleased to announce the winning entries for its 2012 Neuro Film Festival, a contest to raise awareness through video about the need to support research into the prevention, treatment and cure of brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, autism, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. GRAND PRIZE ($1,000 and a trip to New Orleans) Awarded by a panel of judges for the film exhibiting creativity in a technically polished presentation: The Astronaut’s Secret by Zach Jankovic RUNNER-UP PRIZE ($500) Awarded by a select panel of judges: Duchenne with a Future: The Power to Live by Patrick Moeschen FAN FAVORITE AWARD (Online Recognition) Awarded by peers as a result of public voting on video entries: Multiple System Atrophy MSA by Paola Vermeer To view the winning entries and the other video submissions to the Neuro Film Festival contest, visit http://www.neurofilmfestival.com. The winning films were announced and screened April 22, 2012, at the Neuro Film Festival in New Orleans during Brain Health Awareness Week, which is in conjunction with the Academy’s 64th Annual Meeting, the world’s largest meeting of neurologists. Since 2010, nearly 300 films have been submitted to the Neuro Film Festival.
