Win up to $1,000 and a Trip to Philadelphia

MINNEAPOLIS -

The American Brain Foundation, the foundation for the American Academy of Neurology, is accepting video entries to its 2014 Neuro Film Festival. Now in its fifth year, the Neuro Film Festival aims to raise awareness about the need for more funding and research into the prevention, treatment, and cure of brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, autism, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis. Winners could receive up to $1,000 and a chance to attend the Neuro Film Festival in Philadelphia to see their video shown at the American Academy of Neurology's 66th Annual Meeting, the world's largest meeting of neurologists. Visit NeuroFilmFestival.com by the February 26, 2014 entry deadline. “The time to raise awareness and fund research for brain disease is now and the Neuro Film Festival is the perfect opportunity to do so,” said Christine E. Phelps, Deputy Executive Director, American Academy of Neurology Institute and American Brain Foundation. “This is an excellent way to engage and educate people across North America about a brain disorder and how it has personally affected you.” A video showing how to submit to the Neuro Film Festival is available at http://www.NeuroFilmFestival.com along with complete contest rules. Video entries should be no more than 5:00 minutes in length and include the phrase “Help us pave the way to finding a cure for brain disease.” Over 360 videos have been submitted since the Festival began, and collectively the videos have received close to 120,000 views on the Festival’s YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/NeuroFilmFest. The American Brain Foundation supports vital research and education to discover causes, improved treatments, and cures for brain and other nervous system diseases.
