What’s Your Story? Now Accepting Entries for 2016 Neuro Film Festival

Winning Video Receives $1,000

MINNEAPOLIS -

The American Academy of Neurology is now accepting video entries to its 2016 Neuro Film Festival. The Neuro Film Festival, an online video contest, aims to raise awareness about why more funding is needed for research into the prevention, treatment, and cure of brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, autism, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and others. Now in its seventh year, the Neuro Film Festival encourages people to submit a video no more than five minutes in length sharing their story about how brain disease has impacted their life or that of a loved one. The winning video will receive $1,000, and the runner-up video will receive $500. Visit http://www.NeuroFilmFestival.com and submit a video by the March 1, 2016, entry deadline. “We need you to help us make the case for why more brain disease research is needed and the Neuro Film Festival is the perfect opportunity to do so,” said Christine E. Phelps, Deputy Executive Director with the American Academy of Neurology. “Grab your camera and tell us your story. Not only could your story inspire others, it will help raise awareness of the crucial need for more research.” A video showing how to submit to the Neuro Film Festival is available at http://www.NeuroFilmFestival.com along with complete contest rules. Over 430 videos have been submitted since the Festival began, and collectively the videos have received nearly 140,000 views on the Festival’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/neurofilmfest.
